The Story
A portrait of Bachir, a Lebanese triathlete preparing for his Ironman races. One sunrise session on the seafront in Nice — photos and a short film — built around the discipline it takes to get there: the early starts, the kit, the flag on the sleeve.
Before the City Wakes
We met on the Promenade at first light, when the seafront belongs to runners, cyclists and street sweepers. The low sun does the work: warm on the skin, long shadows on the road, the sea still flat behind him.
Riding for Lebanon
His name on the chest, the cedar on the sleeve. Bachir trains in Nice but races for Lebanon, and the suit says it before he does. We shot him riding the Promenade, framed between the palms, and up close on the details that make a long day possible.
The Work
An Ironman is won in months of mornings like this one. The film follows that rhythm — quiet, repetitive, focused — and the photographs hold on the moments in between.
